A person born with a deformed face wonders – why would anyone love me? Then life took a turn and…

Every day thousands of children are born all over the world who suffer from some congenital defect. The life of such children is not easy. One such person is 34-year-old Amit Ghosh, resident of Birmingham, England. Amit Ghosh, born with a facial deformity, was always worried that he would never find love. He always felt that who would see his strange face and why would he love him? But then Piyali entered his life and the flowers of love blossomed in his life. This love story of Amit Ghosh and Piyali is becoming increasingly viral on social media. Amit told that till the year 2021, I thought that I would live my life alone. But in the same year a friend of mine introduced me to Piyali. Piyali rejected me for the first time. But on the advice of a friend, I started sending him messages. Gradually our story started moving forward. We talked about our likes, dislikes and dreams. Soon, we went from texting to video calling…we were in different countries, but we realized there was a connection between us.

Amit explains, “I was worried that people would judge me based on my looks instead of judging me as a person. But the moment I said hello to Piyali and introduced myself, we clicked with each other.” Amit further said that talking on video call was not easy for me. Had to suffer mental trauma for many years due to his deformed face. I used to cover the left side of my face while talking to him. But gradually that hesitation ended. When the conversation progressed, Piyali said to Amit, ‘Ask for my hand from my parents.’ I was on cloud nine, but because of my disfigured face, they rejected me. In such a situation we stopped talking. Finally after 4 days, he called and said, ‘I have convinced mom and dad. She told me ‘I’m not going to marry half your face’, which was a defining moment for me. Make-up artist Piyali, who lives with her husband Amit in Birmingham, says, “I used to get angry when he used to hide his entire face. “I never saw him as a face, but always as a whole person.”
